Essas possibilidades já são realidade nos laboratórios de pesquisa, acenando com promessas de utilização 10médica no futuro. O fato é que a nanobiotecnologia vem transpondo as fronteiras da imaginação para ganhar terreno em aplicações reais, fazendo emergir um admirável mundo novo na medicina.
Lidando com a manipulação de materiais em escala 15nanométrica – um nanômetro equivale à bilionésima parte do metro, algo 50 mil vezes menor que um fio de cabelo –, a nanobiotecnologia está presente em novas formas de exames diagnósticos, tratamentos e medicamentos.
20Ainda há aplicações que permanecem no âmbito da pesquisa, outras requerem aprimoramento e há as que ainda se mantêm apenas no território da imaginação.
Mas o fato é que essa tecnologia minimalista é uma realidade que vai, cada vez mais, aportar recursos 25inovadores para a área da saúde.
